Iré Y Haré

Hey everyone, Happy Halloween!! Enjoy this holiday with family and friends for me because it's not a thing here in Panamá hahaha. This week we focused on working with members, specifically on recent converts. We saw many miracles! Here is one of those miracles that I would like to share.     We visited Itzy and Elizabeth Montenegro to hype them up about missionary work. It has been truly amazing to see their spiritual progress and see how much happier they are since their baptism and entering the covenant path!     We had them share with us the blessings that they have received and seen since having the Restored Gospel in their lives. We then invited them to think about their loved ones who could benefit from these blessings. At that moment, they gave us a few referrals! We shared 1 Nefi 3:7 with them. "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded..."     The next day we went over so that ...

Best Work In The World

Image
This week was a grind because we are in the process of finding new people to teach. Even though the Panamá sun is scorching hot and it rains every single day, the work continues! This work will always push forward.      The mission can be very hard; mentally, emotionally, and especially physically tough as we walk everywhere! But I have realized that as I learn to rely on the Lord, He will bless and strengthen me. We can't do anything or accomplish any hard task without Him and the Atonement. We must continue to strive and complete our tasks and responsibilities no matter what. He will help us!     Jacob 1:19 "And we did magnify our office unto the Lord, taking upon us the responsibility, answering the sins of the people upon our own heads if we did not teach them the word of God with all diligence; wherefore, by laboring with our might their blood might not come upon our garments; otherwise their blood would come upon our garments, and we would not be found spo...

Elder Taylor Of The 70

¿Cómo estamos?  Despite not spending much time in our area this week because we were in the city, it was a phenomenal week! Yep, another 8 hour bus ride to Panama but this time with the entire zone!  I met my new companion Elder Garrett who is from Oregon. He's an awesome missionary and I'm looking forward to serving with him for my 4th transfer in David! On Thursday we had a conference with the entire mission and Elder Taylor of the 70! Then the following day, we had a leadership conference under his direction. It was for sure my favorite week that I've had yet in the mission. It was so amazing and special to be able to receive advice and revelation on how we can improve the work here in Panama from a man called of God to lead over Central America. I know that his words and teachings came from the Lord. He focused on Jesus Christ, the importance of teaching His doctrine with the Book of Mormon, and helping us understand that there is always a more effective way to do missi...

Staying In Chiriquí

What a week! I don't have a lot of time so I'll drop some photos! I'm happy to say that I'll be staying here in David for another transfer but will be getting a new comp! Elder Lewis is going to train a new missionary for his last transfer. La familia Serrano all came to church and the 2 sisters, Paola & Missell, were confirmed! Yoseph Murillo got baptized! We began teaching him, but then he and his wife moved so the sisters finished teaching him and got him baptized! It was a joyful experience. Love you all!  Elder Felt

General Conference Weekend

It was an amazing week doing the Lord's work and General Conference was the cherry on top. It was a special experience hearing the voice of our Prophet and his apostles. Their words filled my heart and mind with inspiration, revelation, and excitement to keep pressing forward.      Cristhofer's older sisters, Paola and Missell were baptized Sunday morning before conference! Their whole family stayed after to watch the morning session with us too! All thanks to Cristhofer's strong desire to follow his Savior Jesus Christ, his family is now following his great example     Something that stood out to me the most from conference was the powerful words of our prophet Russell M. Nelson. He said "Jesus Christ overcame the world so we can too." He suffered and died for every single one of us! I know that he has felt the same pain, guilt, and sadness that we sometimes feel. But because he overcame it all, we can too. This gives me great hope. He lives. And because...
