Edilma & Transfers!

Image
Buen dia familia y amigos, como va todo!!?? This week was a week full of miracles that is for sure. I'll drop a few highlights below So Elder Putt is outta here and off to Colon, and I'm staying here in El Progreso! My new comp's name is Elder Budge and he is also American. He's from the factory which is no surprise haha. It's gonna be a good time with him and I'm stoked to meet him tomorrow. I'll be waking up at 4 in the morning to go to the city to meet up with him and bring him back to La Chorrera.  Edilma was baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday, it was amazing. She was so happy and she just couldn't stop smiling afterwards haha. We also found that her older sister, Ingrid was baptized right before the pandemic hit and never got confirmed. So President said that we gotta go over a few things with her and baptize her again. So we are super grateful that we found that out. Alberto y Maria- They were a solid reference from the sister missionarie...

Life Is Good

Heyyyyy fam how's everything going!? These last 2 weeks have been some good ones. The work here in El Progreso is continuing to progress and just keeps getting better and better. Elder Putt and I have been working, working, working. There's been a ton of challenges but also a lot of highs. We can't succeed without having hardships along the way and that about sums up the last 2 weeks. A ton of good things have happened in the past lately so I'll try to point out a few highlights.  Edilma Sanchez- She is 9 years old and she comes from a less active family(2 older sisters, 1 brother, and her mother) . We have been giving lessons to Eldimas older sisters and her mother too which has been super fun. Edilma is getting baptized on the 29th so this upcoming saturday! They are all stoked for that.  Joshua Valdez- This dude is a stud. He is 26 years old and he is just super chill. He cuts hair outside his house on his porch as a side hustle because he is also a construction work...

The Kingdom Or Nothing

Hey guys, how is everyone doing?! This week had a really amazing start and it was going so so well up until Friday at about 5ish when Elder Putt started to feel not too great. There's been something going around in the mission and lots of missionaries are getting sick sooo since he wasn't getting any better, we had to stay in our house Friday night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. Yeaaa it was pretty dang rough. But overall, it was still a pretty good week. Highlights  Tuesday- We had our first lesson with a dude named Yirbell. He lives in the rich part of our area so it was nice being able to get inside his gated neighborhood(we can't get in unless we are invited). We got there 30 min early, and since we're not allowed to walk the streets, going house to house here, we were able to find a different way. Every gated community has a bball court so you already know I was pumped about that. We saw a guy balling up so we asked if we could shoot around with him. We end...

Feliz Año Nuevo!!

Holaaaa mis amigos y familia. How is everyone doing??? I hope you guys had a hecka good time celebrating the new year with friends and fam. The Panameños go crazy over here with fireworks. There were fireworks all night long so I didn't get much sleep but it was nice just chilling and watching the show. IThe entire sky was lit up because all our neighbors were setting them up. It was super loud but so sick. I have no idea how but Elder Putt slept through like all of it. It was a good week out here in El Progreso. We found 8 new people and we visited a few less active member families. The biggest problem in Panama is that there are a ton of less active members and it's pretty hard trying to bring them back to church especially if it has been 20 years. We're sure gonna try our best though and help them to have the desire again. Norma was going to get baptized this week but she moved to the city so we sent her over to the Elders that are close to her. We are still working with ...
