Bastante Comida & Christmas Conference

Image
Heyyyyyy fam and friends, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas!! I wanna hear all about it so feel free to send something over. This week we had Christmas Conference in the City on Wednesday and it was such a good time. We woke up at 4 am to try and beat the traffic and it still took 2 hours to get three. Panamanians are crazy. I don't even think they sleep at all ever. I sure do admire them and their efforts. They are insanely hard workers and are so grateful for what they have. I have definitely learned to be more grateful for the things that I have. It's a humbling experience for sure and I encourage you all to thank your Heavenly Father for the blessings that you all have every day. He has given us so much, so we can at least talk to him, express our gratitude, and seek for more help. That is all he wants from us. It's a simple task that will go a long way. Anyways, It was super cool seeing other missionaries especially the ones that came on the plane with me, I have...

FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas! I hope all is well and that you are all having a nice Christmas time with friends and family! This week was a blast. We had 2 huge service projects back to back days- one with the zone, and the other with the entire stake and our zone. The first one was Friday at a farm. They call it a farm here but it's a jungle haha. We basically just cleared out a bunch of trees and stuff with machetes. It was way fun. The other service project was Saturday, and we just cut the grass and put the grass in bags. Both of the projects took about half the day and we had lunch afterwards. We had chicken feet soup which was actually pretty dang good. I will send pics of the service projects. Yesterday at church we had a record breaking number of 143 people attend which was more than any other ward in the stake and we are only a branch. We officially become a ward next month if we hit 150 people. There was absolutely no room haha. It has been awhile since I have actually ...

Painting Houses & Christmas Caroling

Heyyyy fam, how are you guys!!?? It's officially Christmas time over here in Panama. People finally have their lights up!! Honestly, it's a bit difficult to feel the Christmas spirit because it's blazing hot every single day haha and it's just simply so different here from the states. I sure do miss the cold. Although, it's summer time in Australia right now too so this isn't completely new to me. I was just a young one though. So I guess the main reason why it's hard to feel the Christmas spirit is because I'm far away from my family. Family is everything to me especially during this time of year. But I am so grateful for this Christmas experience in the mission because I am learning more and more about THE true purpose of Christmas. Growing up, I was more focused on friends, family, sports, presents, etc. So I wasn't all the way focused on the true reason on why we have Christmas. Nothing makes me happier than focusing on our Savior, Jesus Christ, ...

Aaron And Abraham!!

Heyyy family and friends, how's it going?? This week was a good one! To start the week, I went on exchanges with the District Leader, Elder Wutkee. He's such a cool dude and he knows a ton of Spanish since he took 4 years in highschool and 1 semester in college so I always learn lots from him. We had dinner at a member's house from his ward and they made spaghetti. It was the best spaghetti I have ever had but that's probably because I haven't had spaghetti for about 4 months since before the mission because all we eat here is mountains of rice. Elder Wutkee and I were super happy and excited about it. Little things like this on the mission make the mission experience so much better especially if we are grateful for it. Before I left for the field, one of the things that my sister, Elissa, taught me is the importance of being grateful. She said that as missionaries, we need to be grateful for every little good thing or little miracle that happens on the mission. If ...
