Chicken Feet And Fireworks

Holaaaaa fam, this week was crazy fun The best part about this week is that we got to celebrate Thanksgiving!! For those that don't know, this is my favorite time of year but It's a bit different here, so it's not as easy to get excited about it. Being a missionary and doing the Lord's work is way fun though so it makes up for it. But yea, I love Thanksgiving because I love Family, friends, football, and food. Although there's no football or family here, we were able to have a ton of Thanksgiving food and the people that had us over are extremely nice. They just moved from Canada and they know perfectly English. There was also a white family that had just moved to Panama from Utah so it was nice being around people who speak English. I may not have been hanging with my family, but I felt like I was home in the states for a little bit. So we had dinner with 6 other elders in our zone, which was sweet. It's always a good time being with other missionaries. When we...

Norma Y Los Niños

Well it's been a pretty dang good week here in El Progreso! Things are picking up and we have quite a few friends who are interested in learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Norma is a girl that is a part of a less active family that we are teaching. She's 18 years old and she's way cool. She is trying to learn English and I'm trying to learn Spanish haha so we're helping each other out, it's super fun. She is the niece of Elsa and the cousin of David. Elsa and David are members but they hadn't come to church since before the pandemic so we have been working with them, and they came to church last week! David is 15 years old and he's the funniest dude. He's always smiling, I love it. Anyways, We have been working with Norma since my 3rd week here and she accepted our invitation to be baptized on Christmas Day! I can't think of a better way to celebrate Christmas... It looks like we'll be having a white Christmas here in El Progreso afte...

Hey everyone I hope you all are doing well and had the best week.  This week was super sick partially because we had a Multi-Mission Devotional with Elder Gong on Thursday! It was on zoom with the 8 other Central American Missions.  It's always the best hearing from an Apostle that was called of God to help us, guide us, and encourage us to be the best people that we can be and to continue to increase our conversion of the Gospel every day. It's especaily special hearing his advice that is specific to all the missionaries here in Central America. I learned a ton. It's kinda funny becuase I wasn't the biggest fan of devotionals and Gospel related stuff in high school but now I get pumped when we have a devotional. They're way cool. I wanna invite you all to read or listen to a General Conference Talk from this past conferenece this week because you will have joy and peace as you find inspiration through the words of the men who were called by God. They are truly powe...

HALFWAY THROUGH TRAINING

Hey everybody, how's it going?? I hope you are all enjoying the fall weather. I certainly miss this time of year back home, but I also love the sun so I'm good with having summer every day for the next 21 months This week was the best one yet! Elder Putt and I knew that it was going to be a GOOD week despite all the fiestas that were going to happen. Here in Panama, November is a party month so everyone is out drinking and partying all the time. The beginning of the week was rough because all of our lessons were falling through due to all the parties. Elder Putt and I did our best to stay positive and the Lord blessed us with a couple miracles later in the week. Friday and Saturday was just a day of finding and hitting an area that neither of us have been too. Since transfers are happening tomorrow, we figured that it would be a good idea to get to know the area better because we both thought that Elder Putt was leaving, and I was going to have to lead the area with a new compa...

HALLOWEEN

Image
Happy Halloween!I hope everyone had a great week. Halloween isn't really a thing here so that's pretty weird not seeing kids trick or treating. Not a whole lot happened this week, but Elder Putt and I were for sure blessed to meet a lot of new people.  A lot of our lessons fell through so we just hit the streets. My brother Michael told me that if a lesson fell through, it's because there is someone on that street or in the neighborhood who is willing to hear our message and needs to hear what we have to say. On Saturday, that is exactly what happened. My comp wanted to go home to do some studies especially because it started to rain. I was like "nahhhh Elder, let's go walk down this street and talk to the first person that we see." He agreed to do it after I gave him my umbrella because he left it at home. I don't know why he's worried about the rain. It rains pretty much every day haha so it's something we just gotta get used to and not let it st...
