10 Weeks Ago You Were Set Apart As A Missionary!!

Wow! So hard to believe that you’re nearly 3 months in! Time flies and it’s awesome to think you’re on the Lord's time and not your own so it’s such a different perspective- to maximize your time in the field which you totally are! Glad you caught the big picture! Well the Cougs took the win yesterday but they were just lucky but hey they won! I can’t wait to talk to you tomorrow! You have caught the fire my boy! What happened this week? Teaching more? Investigators still on date? It’s good to prepare them for the adversary to try his hardest to stop the baptism. So when the trials come they will recognize it. How’s your feet? Insect bites? Get a battery to change out in the smoke alarm. Could save lives. Time to step into responsible adulthood my son. No one else will fix it. Also keep your bread in the fridge ok? It’s too humid in Panama to keep bread out. Justin put his papers in tonight!!!! So excited! Taught YW and it went well. Love teaching about Liberty jail also called Tem...

Life Is Good Here In The Field

¡Buenas tardes a todos! I hope everyone is doing well! The mission just keeps getting better and better every day. So many miracles happened this week, and I'm gonna start out by sharing one in particular. As Elder Putt and I were walking home from a street trailer on Thursday night for dinner, we decided to take a shortcut. First, I gotta give some context: A few weeks ago we were walking somewhere and a car pulled up next to us and the couple sitting in the car tells us that they can give us a ride, so that was clutch. While talking in the car, we found out that David(the one driving) is less active and hasn't been to church since he was a kid. He told us where they lived so we could stop by but we forgot the directions, which was a huge bummer. Fast forward to two days ago, while we were taking that shortcut home. We made it into our neighborhood when I had the thought "Man, it would be super cool if somehow David turned onto the street or something." Literally 20 ...

WEEK 3 IN THE FIELD

What's up everybody!! I hope you all had a great week. This past week has been the best one yet. The mission just gets better every single day, and I am so grateful to have the best opportunity to be an instrument in the Lord's hands to help serve and bring his children unto Christ.  We had 2 companion exchanges this week which was an awesome experience. My first exchange was with the Zone Leader and my 2nd exchange was with the District Leader. We had 6 lessons on Tuesday and 4 on Friday! Elder Furhiman and Elder Wutkee showed me the way and showed me what a usual day in the mission should be like so I am super glad I got to be with them, I learned heaps.  Elder Putt and I gave a church tour to this guy named Erick and his son Rex. We also taught them a lesson afterwards. We invited them to church and they came! They really enjoyed it, and we are having another lesson with them on Tuesday so I'm stoked for that. Yesterday at church, I met a lot of people, and they gave us ...

El Progresso

From Mom: Dear Dallin, It was so wonderful to talk to you last pday. The glitch with Facebook and messenger lasted 7.5 hours but all good now. That would’ve been so frustrating for you as it was for us and really millions of people worldwide. Just goes to show you how dependent we all are on social media but like anything moderation is key and can be used for good. Especially catching up with our missionary! Did you get a chance to get sheets? Did your week improve? Getting out more? How was the branch today? I think you start at 10am like us? Branch council at 9am? How was it? Is Clementina progressing? What else happened? So BYU lost to Boise State yesterday. We were winning but they caught up and had dominate possession of the ball. They also protected their QB better than we did. We will get em’ next week! The game before was OU vs TX. That was crazy! TX had a 32 yard TD which evened the game with just over a minute left. The OU had this crazy 34 dash TD and wins the game by a seco...

WEEK 1 IN THE FIELD!

¡Hola familia y amigos! I hope everyone is doing well. This was by far the craziest week of my life, and I have a ton to write about. I will talk about the trip to Panama first. When all 25 of us Elders landed in Panama, it was a hassle and very difficult getting through customs, checking our Covid vaccination cards, security, and stuff because none of us knew spanish so we didn't understand what the people were saying at all. It was the best feeling when we saw the Mission President, his wife, and the APs. We then loaded our luggage on the back of a sketchy truck, and we took a bus to Panama City. I knew for sure that my bags would be lost, but luckily they didn't fall off. We stayed in a pretty nice hotel that night, and we got picked up the next morning by our trainers from the mission office which is also the Stake Center in the city. My comp is Elder Putt and he is super cool. He has taught me a lot already. From there, we walked to the metro and took a 15 minute subway ri...
