Predicando Con Los Jóvenes

Image
Hey everyone! It's gonna be a short one this week but it's okay because the photos express the joy and amazing experiences I am having in Panamá! This week we had a few young men come out with us who are preparing to serve full time missions! It's always fun saliendo and predicando con los jóvenes aún en la lluvia! David was baptized on Saturday and afterwards, to celebrate, we played soccer on the new church court! Kailey is una sobrina of a recent convert and she is set for baptism on Saturday!  This is a scripture that has stood a lot out to me lately and it comes from one of my favorite chapters from the Book of Mormon. It was the last thing Hyrum Smith read to his brother Joseph Smith to give him words of comfort before they were martyred at Carthage Jail.  "And it came to pass that the Lord said unto me: If they have not charity it mattereth not unto thee, thou hast been faithful; wherefore, thy garments shall be made clean. Vista Alegre Hace Historia

Hey family and friends! It's been a little while since the last time I reached out. It has been an eventful couple of weeks and my Elder Berumen Montoya and I have been super busy! There is nothing better than staying busy on the Lord's errand. Last week our ward Vista Alegre made history! The new chapel building finally opened up and heaps of members came! 487 was the church attendance(including 20 amigos)! Usually wards in Panama have an average of 80 people attending church. It was a glorious day. After church Pakiler was the first person to be baptized in the new chapel! His entire family who have been less active for quite some time even came! Now they have come to church for 2 straight weeks and look happier than ever! I love la familia Davis so much and I'm stoked for their desire to seguir delante en el evangelio and eventually enter the temple as a family.  Navil and Aristides Pinto were baptized this past weekend! They wanted to follow the example of their uncle a...

Diablo Rojo

Image
Hey everyone! Here's a weekly recap with some pictures!  -Hike! We could see the Panamá Canal, the temple, and the city from the top. We rented a rojo diablo(big colorful bus) as a zone. It was legendary! -Zone Conference! Went back to my first zone and went to the famous chichemito for juice and holadres. Conference was focused on the Atonement and working more effectively with members! -Getting schooled in soccer by a bunch of kids. -Went to an elderly home and shaved an old man's beard.  -Elibra Hartman was baptized! We taught her the restoration last Sunday and on Saturday she got baptized! She was a golden referral from her family and it was a  team effort teaching her the Gospel in dulegaya.  Love you all!
