Merry Christmas From San Blas

Image
Merry Christmas and Happy New year! I hope you are all enjoying this special and joyous time with your loved ones.      This season is by far my favorite time of year especially as a missionary. It's truly amazing being able to help others feel the Christmas spirit and remind them what it is all about- the birth, life, and atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ.      About a week and a half ago, I received a call that I was being transferred. After the most incredible 7 months in David my time came to an end. It was hard to say goodbye to my dear friends but I'm looking forward to having new marvelous experiences in a new place. I will now be serving in the San Blas islands learning a new indigenous language called "Dulegaya."      Before coming out, the new San Blas elders and I spent a couple days preparing by buying food, our sandals, and our hammocks! And we also had a multi-zone Christmas Conference! The elders of Guna Yala(San Blas) sang...

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well! Navidad ya viene! Here's a recap of another insanely fast week     -Cooked dinner with our bishop -Had MLC at the President's house! They live on the 40th floor of an apartment building that looks out to the ocean -Our amigo Carlos, who is on date to be baptized Christmas day, was complaining about being too hot with his long hair so my comp gave him a nice fade! -We went out to Puerto Armuelles which is a super worn down beach town to visit the elders and did exchanges! It was about a 2.5 hour bus ride and we even touched the border of Costa Rica!  -Played fútbol with a few Jóvenes at the chapel there as well -La familia Martínez finally came to church! They are a less active family of 10(8 came to church) and we had been trying to get them to come for a couple months now. They also have a daughter that just turned 9 years old so we'll start teaching her this week to prepare for her baptism!     Here's a spiritual tho...

Tarde Blanca!

It was another phenomenal week out in the Promise Land of David, Panamá!     As a mission we are all getting excited about Christmas time and inviting everyone to come unto Christ. For the past couple months, we had been planning a tarde blanca(a big baptismal service) to start off the Christmas Season. The goal was to have a baptism in every area for December 3rd. In the zone, 12 sons and daughters of God entered the waters of baptism. Elder Gomez and I were blessed to have 2 baptisms on Saturday. David and Rosario! It was a very special day filled with happy faces and pure joy.      There's nothing better than being a missionary in Panama teaching the Gospel, drinking out of coconuts, holding Iguanas, and of course, getting to know, love, and serve the people. They are the happiest people!     Sigan firmes en el evangelio siempre,     Elder Felt
