The Kingdom Or Nothing
Hey guys, how is everyone doing?!
This week had a really amazing start and it was going so so well up until Friday at about 5ish when Elder Putt started to feel not too great. There's been something going around in the mission and lots of missionaries are getting sick sooo since he wasn't getting any better, we had to stay in our house Friday night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. Yeaaa it was pretty dang rough. But overall, it was still a pretty good week.
Highlights
Tuesday- We had our first lesson with a dude named Yirbell. He lives in the rich part of our area so it was nice being able to get inside his gated neighborhood(we can't get in unless we are invited). We got there 30 min early, and since we're not allowed to walk the streets, going house to house here, we were able to find a different way. Every gated community has a bball court so you already know I was pumped about that. We saw a guy balling up so we asked if we could shoot around with him. We ended up playing 1v1 so of course I made the bet with him: If I win, Elder Putt and I gotta share a message about Jesus Christ with you and he agreed! His name is Luis Rodriguez and he was pretty dang good for a latino haha. Luckily, we were able to talk to share a brief message about the Plan of Salvation, and he seemed pretty interested. We're gonna stop by his house after we visit Yrbell again next week. The lesson with Yirbell about the Restoration super well too so it's nice having 2 friends that live in this gated community.
Wednesday- Grinded all day with lots of walking and bus rides to visit some people
Thursday- We had District Council and exchanges with the Zone Leader, Elder Jones. President and Sister Garrett walked in during DC which was a sweet surprise. After my interview with President Garrett, I got to talk with Sister Garrett and got to know her a bit more while I waited for Elder Jones to finish up his interview. Then Elder Jones and I headed out to my area and it turned out to be the best day yet. We had a couple lessons and I learned a ton from him. It was sick hearing some of his mission stories and just being able to ask him questions and stuff. We have a lot in common so it was a super good time. Our dinner appointment fell through so we ordered pizza which I didn't know we could do so that was a big plus.
Friday- Elder Putt and I did a service project with the Zone Leaders. We painted Apolonia's bathroom and it was a blast.
Saturday & Sunday- Nothing exciting happened due to quarantining but we had a few lessons over the phone, cooked some dinner, did some studies... and some more studies.
It was an interesting week out here in Panama for sure but thanks to technology, we were still able to do the work as much as we could.
Keep the faith and hold to the Iron Rod especially when life gets difficult! We need to do everything we can to reach the Kingdom of God. I love you guys and I'm grateful for the impacts you have all had in my life.
Much love,
Elder Felt
