FELIZ NAVIDAD!
Hey everyone, Merry Christmas!
I hope all is well and that you are all having a nice Christmas time with friends and family! This week was a blast. We had 2 huge service projects back to back days- one with the zone, and the other with the entire stake and our zone. The first one was Friday at a farm. They call it a farm here but it's a jungle haha. We basically just cleared out a bunch of trees and stuff with machetes. It was way fun. The other service project was Saturday, and we just cut the grass and put the grass in bags. Both of the projects took about half the day and we had lunch afterwards. We had chicken feet soup which was actually pretty dang good. I will send pics of the service projects.
Yesterday at church we had a record breaking number of 143 people attend which was more than any other ward in the stake and we are only a branch. We officially become a ward next month if we hit 150 people. There was absolutely no room haha. It has been awhile since I have actually sat down during sacrament meeting haha. It's a good feeling, especially seeing all the members hyped up about it.
So we had to push Norma's date back for baptism for January 8th because she is finishing up school in the city for the last 2 weeks so she hasn't been able to come to church for the 2nd time yet. And we had to take Roman off date because he is having concerns with the word of wisdom. He doesn't drink alcohol but he loves his coffee and tea. He's also having doubts about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, so Satan is really working hard on him. Please pray for Roman that he can stay strong during these times. I know that Satan wants us to be miserable and not happy, especially when we are trying to follow the example of our savior, Jeus Christ. I encourage you all to hold on tightly during those difficult times and to protect yourself by reading the word of God. It is a shield for us to use to fight against the temptations of satan. It truly is the most powerful tool we have to learn and teach.
We had our 2nd lesson with Jaime who is a student in our English class! He is the coolest person and he's a Cowboys fan so he is always telling me about how they are doing. We had a Noche de Hogar with them and he cooked barbeque for us which was absolutely amazing. We teach him English and the Gospel, and he teaches Spanish and how to cook so it works out real great.
I gotta go cause my comp and I are getting Krispy Kreme Donuts for everyone so we gotta keep our promise. Anyways, I love you all so so much and I hope you guys have the best Christmas. Looking forward to hearing all about it all from you guys!
