El Progresso

From Mom:

Dear Dallin,

It was so wonderful to talk to you last pday. The glitch with Facebook and messenger lasted 7.5 hours but all good now. That would’ve been so frustrating for you as it was for us and really millions of people worldwide. Just goes to show you how dependent we all are on social media but like anything moderation is key and can be used for good. Especially catching up with our missionary!

Did you get a chance to get sheets? Did your week improve? Getting out more?

How was the branch today? I think you start at 10am like us? Branch council at 9am? How was it?

Is Clementina progressing?

What else happened?

So BYU lost to Boise State yesterday. We were winning but they caught up and had dominate possession of the ball. They also protected their QB better than we did. We will get em’ next week!

The game before was OU vs TX. That was crazy!

TX had a 32 yard TD which evened the game with just over a minute left. The OU had this crazy 34 dash TD and wins the game by a second! It was one of those amazing games that you only see sometimes!

Dana and I saw the new God’s Not Dead movie titled “We The People”. It was awesome. You’ll love it!

It’s that’s time of year where 1000’s of birds migrate South for the winter. They are all over power lines and stop lights especially in front of Floyd’s at the intersection there. Remarkable how and when they fly South. God's definitely involved in the details huh?

Sent your package Friday. You should get it in time for Thanksgiving. Hope you like it.

Cash is looking healthy after we sorted out his ear infection again. He is the sweetest boy and never in his kennel anymore. He greets everyone and patients say how much better they feel after therapy with me AND Cash hand shaking and his head rubs.

I see the weather there is pretty much the same everyday except it definitely seems to rain more during the day and less at night. Seriously upside down.

Tonight we are in for a severe thunderstorm and Tuesday the weather looks like it will leave the 90’s and go to the 70’s. Nice! Yesterday was 100 though lol.

Dad and I went to see a Chinese classical show in Richardson as well as dinner in Dallas. Both were lovely. We have also been in the pool more. The night swims are the best with the full moon. But with Fall here we will need to wait. The hammock in the sun is always so peaceful.

It great to catch up with all the kids. Everyone is missing you but are so proud of you as you go and search for those that are looking for eternal joy. My mission was hard but amazing as well. Probably one of the best things I did with my life and it for sure set things up to where we have this amazing family because of it. Totally no doubt.

Work is busy and just doesn’t seem to slow down even with me not taking new referrals. I’m sure it will though and I’m the meantime I feel so grateful to be able to help others.

I hung out with dana a lot especially with her family all still in Utah. They just got back yesterday. Every single one of them including Sam’s mom had Covid except Will. Crazy but all getting better slowly. Stet and Sam were the sickest.

Michael had a nice stay in Arizona and Vaeh said her family loved hosting him. Maya and Michael seem to be working out.

Do you hear from anyone? Vaeh or Colton? Justin? Justin is putting his papers in super soon.

Colton heads out in a few weeks he said. End of month?

Did you find protein powder?

What’s your address so I cam google earth where you live? I looked up the area and the chapel but not sure it’s the right one? La Chorrera?

Anyway, I don’t want to to take up too much of your time so I’ll leave you with a few more questions. How’s Elder Kenner doing? Also how many are in your district? Have you met other missionaries yet? DL or SL trade offs? They are always a nice change and to see how others work.

Love you Dallin so much! Can’t wait to FaceTime tomorrow so I can see your handsome face.

PS don’t forget your vitamins everyday. Is the MP3 player sorted out? Mosquitoes? Insect repellent?

Love always and forever,

Mom/mum

Hey momma,

Our branch starts at 9 and then ward council after. Yes, I finally got bed sheets and my week was better. Sadly, Clementina is so longer progressing. She isn't responding to any of our messages. We think our invitation for her to be baptized pushed her away so we are pretty down about that. Thank you so much for your weekly update. It makes me happy that you and Dana got to hang out a lot! And I love how you and dad are having night swims haha those are the best. I am super sad about BYU and it seems like I am missing out on some good football games. Look at you watching them though! Vaeh and I are messaging right now which is nice. I miss her a ton. La Correra is where we live yes. That is where the Stake Center is but I go to a small chapel in El Progreso. We live really close to the beach. It is one of the last neighborhoods in Costa Oeste. I will answer more of you questions on the FT
