Tender Mercies

Hey everyone! The work continues to push forward in the promised land of Vista Alegre! There is so much work to do! We are working HARD with the members working in the Lord's Vineyard.

This week was one to remember because The Lord blessed me with many tender mercies!

One of those tender mercies was running into members this week that I met in previous areas! Gordo and his abuela from the islands and Francisco from my first area! Both of these families have had a huge impact on me and my mission and it brought me so much joy seeing them again.

Another tender mercy experience I had was meeting a member with the same name as me! There probably aren't many latinos that share my name haha. Our parents named us after a remarkable apostle of the Lord, one of the best! Although he was blessed with the opportunity to to meet the legend Dallin H. Oaks himself when he came to Panama a few years ago!

Kailey was baptized by her uncle and her grandma who isn't a member came! We are now working with her towards baptism!

One of the biggest things I have learned on my mission is the principle of sacrifice. Joseph Smith said “a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has the power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation.” Sacrifice brings blessings! We just need to have an eternal perspective of things to recognize the blessings that come from making a sacrifice and recognizing that the blessings are far greater than anything given up.

I love you all and I hope all is well!
