One Last Ride

Well, here it is, the final chapter of my mission! I cannot believe that my time as a full-time missionary and representative of Jesus Christ is running out. I mention this a lot, but time is going by TOO FAST.

It was tough saying goodbye to the people in Vista Alegre. I'm grateful for the lifelong friendships that I was able to gain with the members, investigators, my companion Elder Berumen Montoya, and especially the recent converts of The Church of Jesus Christ. They are all incredible people that I truly do love with all my heart.

Adelia Arias and her sobrina Stacy were baptized! And their entire family came! Half of them are less active, so it was lovely to see all of them together and happy at church. Amo a la familia Arias muchísimo.

Lately, I have been studying about the life of Joseph Smith. My cousin Little Mike has been on the best senior trip in the world, visiting all the Church historical sites, including the Sacred Grove and Nauvoo (I went on the same trip before the mission with my best friend Elder Justin Salway). It changed our lives, and it's changing his. Hearing about my cousin's special experience made me ponder about my experience there as well and also pumped me up to listen to talks about the Restoration and the prophet Joseph Smith. I testify that the true gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. We all must participate in this great and marvelous work and help others come to know the truth as well!

"Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice and be exceedingly glad." - Joseph Smith

My new and last companion is fresh from the MTC! Elder Martínez! He is from Ecuador, and we share the same birthday, August 15th! Super cool. Too bad we won't be able to celebrate together. He, for sure, has that greenie fire and came to Panamá ready to WORK. We are opening the area, so it'll be a good adventure. I am so pumped to grind this transfer and learn from Elder Martínez. We aren't going to lose any bit of the Lord's time!

Nos vemos pronto,

Elder Felt
