Mountain Day!
Hey everyone! It was a pretty sweet week out here in the country of Chiriquí up near Costa Rica! Here are some cool experiences...
-Went on exchanges in San Felix with Elder Hansen who was one of the 25 elders that came out to Panamá with me! San Felix is a little town in the mountains filled with villages, huts, and indigenous tribes. Panama is sick because every province is just a completely different culture. Here in Chiriquí live the Nube people who speak a different language and the women wear traditional, colorful dresses. Anyways, we hiked up a mountain to visit a few member families! Oh man, it was tough! It was totally worth it though because the view was absolutely beautiful and they were all so happy to see 2 tall gringos haha. I thought it was so cool that there are members that live way up there!
-Yesterday's testimony meeting was amazing. 2 converts(William De Gracia & Francisco Miranda) bore their testimony and wow, it was a really cool experience seeing them up there with the brightest and happiest faces. The gospel truly has changed their life in the best way and they're sharing that joy with everyone.
-One of our investigators is named Itzy and she has a baptismal date this upcoming week. She's a 16 year old joven that has truly come super close to our Heavenly Father and it has been so special seeing the light of Christ increase and she learns to live the Gospel. Coincidently, she showed up to church with a red dress and my comp and I were wearing red ties haha!
Here's a scripture that I read this week during my daily study of the Book of Mormon!
I Nephi 11:17 "And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things."
This scripture brings me so much peace as it answers so many of our questions and doubts. Sometimes we don't know why bad things happen in our life, but what we do know is that we are God's children, he knows and loves us dearly, and he has a perfect plan for us. With this knowledge, we come to know that there's a reason for everything and it will always work out. We just need to trust His plan.
Los Quiero mucho,
Elder Felt
