Christopher
Hey everybody! I hope all is well. We received transfer news and thankfully, I'll be staying in David with my comp, Elder Lewis! We are so pumped to continue serving and teaching together.
Last week, Alfonso and Emely got baptized! They are siblings who were references from members! Juan, who is a priest, is preparing to serve a mission, and he helped us out with the baptism!
This week, our little guy Christopher Serrano got baptized! We met him about 2 months ago playing hopscotch in the streets with his cousins. There are about 20 family members living in the same house(none are members)and so far only Christopher has shown interest. He is an incredibly intelligent kid and has a very bright future. We're hoping that his mom, sisters, and cousins follow his example and accept the Gospel as well. His mom and one of his sisters even came to the baptism! He's a stud.
We had Zone Conference and President came out to David on a plane! The conference was heavily focused on completing our missionary purpose by being brave and talking to everyone everywhere. With that being said, it was an amazing week applying it and increasing our number of contacts everyday on the streets, bus stops, taxis, and buses.
The best part of the week was on Wednesday! It was my comp's Birthday and our friends Nadia(daughter) and Eida(mother) prepared a little party for us! They cooked up the usual arroz con Pollo and got us the best birthday cake that we have ever seen. Afterwards we shared a very special message about Temples and the spirit was so strong. They both believe the church is true but fear is holding Nadia back from being baptized and marriage is holding Eida back from being baptized. It's a hard situation but I know that there is always a way when we try to do the Lord's will.
The work continues to push forward and as it does, my testimony of the Book of Mormon continues to grow. I was able to finish it again here on the mission and I have seen it change people's lives, their hearts, and desires. It is the best book in the entire word that truly brings peace into our hearts. So get it down from that dresser, wipe off the dust, and open it up!
Alma 17:1-3 Let's try and be like the Sons of Mosiah.
Nos vemos prontito,
Elder Felt
