HALLOWEEN
Happy Halloween!I hope everyone had a great week. Halloween isn't really a thing here so that's pretty weird not seeing kids trick or treating. Not a whole lot happened this week, but Elder Putt and I were for sure blessed to meet a lot of new people.
A lot of our lessons fell through so we just hit the streets. My brother Michael told me that if a lesson fell through, it's because there is someone on that street or in the neighborhood who is willing to hear our message and needs to hear what we have to say. On Saturday, that is exactly what happened. My comp wanted to go home to do some studies especially because it started to rain. I was like "nahhhh Elder, let's go walk down this street and talk to the first person that we see." He agreed to do it after I gave him my umbrella because he left it at home. I don't know why he's worried about the rain. It rains pretty much every day haha so it's something we just gotta get used to and not let it stop us from doing the work. Anyways, we met this guy and his wife while they were chilling outside in their hammocks. He calls himself Captain Robby because he's a retired Ship Captain which is the coolest thing ever. He speaks English very well(thank goodness haha) and he is super funny. He and my dad share the same name and it's actually crazy how much he reminds me of him. They have a very similar personality. He is recovering from a heart surgery and his wife is having a surgery soon. So we talked to them and told them that they will be in our prayers. They were super happy and told us that we are always welcome inside their home. They are the sweetest people. He's from Panama, and she is from Venezuela. My trainer is super good and I have learned a ton from him. He is crazy smart and knows so much about the gospel. I am truly blessed to have him as my comp. I just gotta help him get a little fired up again. That's what greenies are for right?? We have a new goal to talk to at least 20 people every day, so we're pretty excited to see how it goes.
Elder Putt and I are teaching an english class every Tuesday night now which is pretty fun even though we have no idea what we are doing haha. They know more English than I know Spanish so I feel pretty pointless but it's all good. It's a great time.
I'll leave you guys here with a super cool scripture that testifies of Moroni's promise.
Alma 5: 45-46 And this is not all. Do ye not suppose that I know of these things myself? Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things whereof I have spoken are true. And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety?
46 Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things about myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me.
I know the Book of Mormon is true. Reading it every single day brings me great joy and strength. It is so important to figure out for yourself that it is the word of God, and we can know that it is the truth by the power of the Holy Ghost. My testimony continues to increase every day because of this great book. Have a great week everyone, I love you all so much.
Nos vemos
